Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy can be helpful with:

- incontinence (leaking urine)

- prolapse

- pelvic pain

- painful intercourse

- pregnancy and post-partum care (pelvic girdle/low back pain, preparing for birth, post partum strengthening, c-section scar care, perineal tear)

Physiotherapy pelvic floor assessments can include:

external assessment: general posture, body muscle tone/strength/flexibility, movement patterns, breathing

internal assessment (through vagina): an internal assessment can give the physiotherapist a more detailed and complete understanding of the pelvic floor muscles' strength and tone.

* although an internal assessment is often recommended, it is your choice what type of assessment you feel comfortable with.
